Blanchard Grinding
Efficiently remove stock from castings or plates with our cost-effective Blanchard grinding services, achieving tolerances as precise as .0005” and surface finishes as fine as 8 micro on numerous parts. If your project demands even tighter tolerances, lapping may be the optimal solution.
We deliver precise, high-quality grinding with exceptional versatility in size along with tolerance consistency for both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Our experienced Blanchard grinding team, with over 75 years of cumulative expertise, is adept at handling a diverse range of parts, from large plates to small spacers.

Capabilities
PLG’s capabilities include the ability to produce surface finishes down to 2 RMS on a variety of metals, plastics, ceramics, and other composite materials. With size capacities from 0.125” to 25” in diameter, lapping and grinding processes can be tailored to fit any application. General dimensional tolerances as tight as ±0.0001" can be held with flatness tolerances reaching down to 5 millionths of an inch. Tight tolerances and premium surface finishes are critical to the performance of our customers' products which range from mechanical seals to fiber optic components.
Technology
Advanced measuring technology including CMM with SPC capability, helium light band and vacuum measuring equipment ensure that finished products meet all customer specifications. Because many products we finish have special handling requirements, ultrasonic cleaning and special packaging services are offered as value added options to better serve our customers. Lead times are evaluated on a job-by-job basis and rush services are available as needed.
